Born in Edessa in 1988 he started his musical education at the early age of 5, attending the Municipal Conservatory of Edessa.

In 1999 he enrolled in the trumpet class and took lessons by Tasos Diskos. In 2004 he won the first prize in the national student competition of Northern Greece and the next year he was awarded a special distinction in traditional music performance in the same competition.

From 2004 until 2011 he studied the trumpet at the Thessaloniki State Conservatory (T.S.C.) and in 2012 he continued his studies at the Northern Greece Conservatory under the instructions of Anastasios Giamouridis. A year later he was awarded his diploma “cum laude”.

He has also attended trumpet workshops, seminars and private lessons by Gerassimos Ioannidis, Vince Dimartino, Fritz Damrow as well as improvisation workshops by Kostas Anastasiadis and Marcus Stockhausen.

He collaborated with the Symphonic Orchestra of Thessaloniki under the direction of Charis Iliadis and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Symphonic Orchestra directed by Dimitris Dimopoulos, in which he occasionally performed as a soloist.

In addition to that, he was a member of the T.S.C. Symphonic Orchestra directed by Alkis Baltas and the T.S.C concert band directed by Kleanthis Zarimpas. Furthermore, he participated in numerous chamber music ensembles and in several choirs during his time at the T.S.C.

He recorded and was part of various educational programs of T.S.C. and the Thessaloniki Concert Hall with all the aforementioned ensembles. In May 2013, he was selected, through an audition process, to perform his own recital at the Music Center of Thessaloniki for the  21st Recital of Young Artists.

From 2013 to 2016 he taught trumpet at “Simon Karas – Greek Traditional Music Research and Promotion Center”.

In July 2014 he participated in the National Opera auditions and was accepted as interim trumpet player.

In addition to his participation in classical ensembles, he has also performed as a trumpet player in theater, TV series and cinema movies.

Moreover, Periklis is an established professional trumpet player in the Greek and Balkan traditional music scene and he has had numerous collaborations with brass bands from Macedonia at a national level.

  Since 2007 he has been a member of the Greek popular band “Imam Baildi”. During his time with the band he has recorded three albums with them and he has had the chance to perform in some of the biggest international music festivals.

He is founding member and arranger of the Chouska Ensemble, a band focusing on linking the northern greek traditional music with more advanced jazz harmonies releasing their first album "CHOUSKA" in November 2017, performing concerts in Greece and Cyprus.

Since 2018 creating his personal music project “Periklis Aliopis” to present his original compositions on a variety of Festivals and Venues.
His professional career includes numerous live performances and studio recordings with popular Greek artists.

Performed at major international music festivals as well as in some of the most important concert venues.

  Since 2019 he has been a professor of trumpet at the “Municipal Conservatory of Patras” and since 2022 at “Conservatory of the Polyphonic Choir of Patras”.
