The first summer concert of the "POLYPHONIKI" Music School (Artistic Director: Giorgos Bourdopoulos, Administrative Director: Effi Kavvadia) was held successfully on Sunday morning under the title "Magical City."
The event, a "Musical Morning" featuring the Modern Song class from the School of Monody, led by instructor Chrysa Pantazopoulou, took place at the "PANACHAIKON" café-bar-restaurant in the High Threshing Floors square.
The packed venue welcomed members of the Administrative Board, the Artistic Direction, the school’s artistic staff, and local residents. The program showcased works by Greek composers, with piano accompaniment by the school’s piano instructor, Lousi Christodoulou.
Performers included students:
Giannis Alexopoulos, Andriana Vasi, Nadia Zerva, Maragia Theakou, Giannis Papadopoulos, Pavlina Stavrianaki, Theoni Tzamakou, Chrysa Fotopoulou, and Maria Chatzikonstantoglou.
The concert’s research, curation, and narration were handled by the school’s Administrative Director and pianist, Effi Kavvadia. The Artistic Director of the organization, Stavros Solomos, gave the opening and closing remarks. Sponsors included RELLOS S.A. and "PANACHAIKON."
On Wednesday, May 14th, the Achaia Retired Healthcare Professionals Association will host a seminar titled "Medicine and Art" at Agora Argiri, starting at 6 p.m.
The event will explore the connections between medicine and poetry, literature, theater, music, painting, and other arts, moderated by journalist Alexandra Panagopoulou.
Among the distinguished guest speakers will be Giannis Kottoros, President of the "POLYPHONIKI" Administrative Board, Professor of Byzantine Music, Protopsaltis (First Chanter), Director of the organization’s Byzantine Choir, and former Director of Patras’ Ecclesiastical High School. His talk will focus on "Medicine and Music."
