The participation of  "EMMELEIA" of "POLYPHONIKI" (Conductor: Albena Penkova, Piano: Lousi Christodoulou) in the 2nd National Choir Festival of Florina was a great success. The event took place in the "Aristotelis" hall in Florina last weekend.

A total of 16 choirs from all over Greece participated.

-Theater Workshop of "POLYPHONIKI"

In another notable achievement, the Theater Workshop of "POLYPHONIKI" held a performance last Sunday at the  "Prostasis" center, upon invitation. They presented the play "Oi mytes to’ skasan" ("The Noses went rogue") by fairy tale writer Anna Dendrinou, adapted and directed by Athena Kallimani-Georgitsopoulou. The proceeds from the performance were donated to support the prevention programs of "Prostasis," promoting an alternative way of life.

Upcoming Performance by the Children’s Choir

Finally, on Friday, June 6, at 8:00 PM, at the "Epikentro" Theater, the Children’s Choir of the Organization (Conductor: Marialena Bokari, Piano: Marina Mylona) will participate in the school theatrical performance of the 4th grade of the 11th Primary School of Patras. They will present the play "Ta magika maxilaria" ("The Magic Pillows"), based on the book of the same name by renowned children’s literature author Eugenios Trivizas.

This is an emblematic work that has been staged by the Greek National Opera and the National Theatre of Greece. It is a hymn to childhood, to dreamers, and to those who still dare to dream of changing the world—because to change it, one must first imagine it.

The music of the play features compositions by Mikis Theodorakis, Giorgos Hatzipieris, Tasos Ioannidis, Spyros Lambros, as well as the choir’s conductor, Marialena Bokari.
