The "Asia Minor Events 2025" will take place on Friday and Saturday, September 26 and 27, with the participation of two of our departments: the THEATRE WORKSHOP (Director: Athina Kallimani Georgitsopoulou) and the "HELIODORIA" ORCHESTRA AND CHOIR OF TRADITIONAL MUSIC (Director: Yiannis Panagiotopoulos).

The events are organized by the Asia Minor and Cultural Association "Panagia i Girokometissa" to mark the 100 years since the founding of the Girokomeio refugee settlement. They will be held in A. Kydoniatis Square in the Girokomeio neighborhood, with the support of the Region of Western Greece and the Municipality of Patras.

On Friday, September 26 at 8:00 PM, traditional dances will be presented by the dance department of the Municipality of Patras (Supervisor: Christos Yannopoulos), while choral songs will be performed by the choir of the Cultural Association (Director: Maria Redit). This will be followed by a traditional celebration with a live orchestra featuring:

• Konstantinos Stefanopoulos - Laouto and Vocals

• Christos Dalianis - Violin

• Penny Georgopoulou - Santouri

• Yiorgos Toumplaris - Bouzouki

On Saturday, September 27 at 7:00 PM, in the same location, the inauguration of the newly erected Memorial will take place. The THEATRE WORKSHOP of "POLYPHONIKI" will present the theatrical performance: "Our Little Smyrna" with the participation of the "HELIODORIA" ORCHESTRA & CHOIR OF TRADITIONAL MUSIC.

The evening will continue with a musical night featuring Kostis Panagopoulos and his Orchestra.

Asia Minor dishes will be prepared by chef Nikos Fotiadis, with the ladies of the neighborhood also contributing their cooking.
