The 1st Choir Meeting “ANTIHISEIS” 2025 was held with great success last Sunday, November 2nd.
The event was organized by the Polyphonic Choir of Patras, in co-organization with the Region of Western Greece, aiming to promote and enhance the choral art in our city.

The meeting took place with the participation of seven choirs from Patras, at the fully packed theater of the “ROYAL” Cultural Venue. The participating choral ensembles, in order of appearance, were:

Children’s Choir of the “Polyphonic Choir of Patras” (Conductor: Aretousa Nikolopoulou)

“voiShes” Choir of Rythmotopos (Conductor: Emmanouela Manolatou)

Women’s Choir “Ihochromata Femina” (Conductor: Dimitra Pitsou)

Choir of the Cultural Center of OTE Employees and Pensioners of Patras (Conductor: Aretousa Nikolopoulou)

“Timbres Female Vocal Ensemble” of the University Cultural Group “Techni Kinisi” (Conductor: Dora Petridi)

Mixed Vocal Ensemble “Coro Avanti” of the Music Society of Patras “Orfeus” (Conductor: Lina Geronikou)

Youth Choir of the “Polyphonic Choir of Patras” (Conductor: Lousie Christodoulou)

The choirs performed exemplary works from both the international and Greek choral repertoire, accompanied by instruments or sung a cappella.

On behalf of the Region of Western Greece, the concert was introduced by Mr. Panagiotis Sakellaropoulos, Deputy Regional Governor for Tourism Development, who highlighted the special characteristics of choral activity and the value it brings to the community through the artistic work of local citizens and cultural organizations.

The concert concluded with remarks by Mr. Giannis Kottoros, President of the Organization, while the program was presented by Artistic Director Maestro Stavros Solomos and General Secretary Athanasia Papastavrou.
