On Saturday, November 8th, the YOUTH and CHILDREN'S CHOIRS of "POLYFONIKI" will depart for Nafplio to participate in the 11th International Choir Festival of Nafplio, organized by the cultural organization "Marilena - Nafplio ARTIVA" (Artistic Director: Theodosios Antoniadis).
Specifically, the YOUTH CHOIR will participate in the competitive part of the Festival (vocal female ensembles), which will take place at 12:00 noon in the hall of the historic "Vouleftiko" in Syntagma Square in Nafplio.
The YOUTH CHOIR will perform the following works: "AMOR, AMOR," lyrics and music by NIKOS KIPOURGOS, "IN MEINEM GARTEN," music by ROBERT SCHUMANN, "AVE VERUM CORPUS," music by FRANCIS POULENC, "THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM," lyrics by JOE DARION, music by MITCH LEIGH, arranged by JONATHAN WIKELEY.
The choir will be conducted by Mo Lousi Christodoulou, with piano accompaniment by Marina Mylonas, both professors at the "POLYFONIKI" Conservatory.
At the same time, the CHILDREN'S CHOIR will participate in the Festival with a free program on Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m., also in the "Vouleftiko" hall.
The program includes: "ONCE UPON A DECEMBER," lyrics by LYNN AHRENS, music by STEPHEN FLAHERTY, "CAN YOU HEAR ME?", lyrics and music by BOB CHILCOTT, "HOW FAR I'LL GO," lyrics and music by LIN-MANUEL MIRANDA, arranged by ED LOJESKI, and "CANTAMOS," lyrics and music by JAMES DesJARDIN.
The choir will be conducted by Mo Aretoysa Nikopolou, with piano accompaniment by Marina Mylonas, both professors at the "POLYFONIKI" Conservatory.
The choirs will be accompanied by the Artistic Director of the Organization, Mo Stavros Solomos, the Vice-President of the Board, Panagiotis Arkadianos, the Deputy Artistic Director, Effie Kavvadia, and the Head of the Children's Choir, Sofia Alexopoulou.
