The ceremony for the conferment of an honorary doctorate to His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America will take place on Friday, December 5, at 12 noon, in the Ceremonial Hall of the University of Patras.
The honorary degree is awarded by the Department of Management Science and Technology of the University of Patras.
The ceremony will feature a performance by the BYZANTINE CHOIR "POLYPHONIKI," under the direction of the Archon Protopsaltis of the Holy Archdiocese of America, Protopsaltis of the Metropolitan Church of the Annunciation in Patras, Professor of Byzantine Music, and President of the Organization's Board of Directors, Mr. Yiannis Kottoros.
The BYZANTINE CHOIR will perform the following hymns:

"Christos en polei…" / "Chaireis Anassa…" – The 1st and 9th Odes of the pre-festal Iambic Katabasies (anonymous compositions, 10th-11th century). Slow heirmologic melody by Petros Bereketes (18th century). Plagal First Mode.
