The New Year’s cake-cutting of “POLYFONIKI” was held with great success last Sunday, in the fully attended facilities of the Organization, in the presence of the Board of Directors, the Artistic Management, members, and friends of POLYFONIKI.

The cake was blessed by Rev. Archimandrite Prokopios Kordas, while the BYZANTINE CHOIR (conducted by Giannis Kottoros) chanted.

This was followed by the customary cake-cutting ceremony for all departments of the Organization, with the lucky coin found in the piece “of Christ and the Church,” which was received by the attending Archimandrite Prokopios.

The President of the Organization, Giannis Kottoros, then presented the Administrative Report for 2025, while the Artistic Director, Stavros Solomos, displayed on screen the artistic report of the past year, which included 106 concerts and performances by the Organization’s 11 departments, both locally and throughout Greece.

During this festive event, long-serving members were honored for their contribution to the Organization: the guitar teacher of the POLYFONIKI Conservatory, Andreas Benos, and the member of the MIXED CHOIR and founding member of the Organization, Makis Pomonis.

The musical part of the event was covered by the JUNIOR CHOIR of the Organization (Conductor: Marialena Bokari, Piano: Marina Mylona).

Among the attendees were the Deputy Regional Governor of Western Greece, Mr. Charalampos Bonanos, the Member of Parliament for Achaia, Ms. Christina Alexopoulou, the Deputy Regional Governor of Sports, Mr. Takis Antonopoulos, the representative of the Deputy Minister of Culture, Mr. Iason Fotilas, Vasilis Filippopoulos, the Deputy Mayor for Health and Welfare, Ms. Vivian Samouri, representing the Mayor of Patras together with City Councilor Ms. Athina Kallimani-Georgitsopoulou, the leader of the minor opposition of Patras City Council, Mr. Petros Psomas, the entrepreneur Mr. Nikos Karakitsos, and others.
